April showers bring May...adoption?

This weekend we had an adoption shower for Minsoo held by our neighbors. We have lived in our home for almost 6 years and have been hermits busy with work and travel. So, when our next door neighbor and another neighbor down the street offered to throw us a shower, we said yes, lets do it!

We knew we had great neighbors, but now we know we have great, fun and thoughtful neighbors too!

Our first shower

We had our first shower last week (April 10). It was prettier than I could have ever imagined and also emotional for me to have my close family and friends come together for something that we have waited so long for. It was really touching and overwelming.

Traci, Cait, Christie and my mom made the best food, had the coolest ideas for decorations and really pulled it all together so well. They made plumages (those are the flower looking tissue things), onsies that said "I love mommy" in Korean, pretty flowers in tea tins from China and chocolates in Asian printed silk baggies. So cute!

The food included yummy finger sandwiches with different salad fillings, asian salad, sherbert punch and chocolate cake with rasberry filling. Mimosa's and good dips, fresh fruit and veggies topped it all off for a foodie heaven. yum. yum. yum.

One of the activities was for everyone to make a shirt or onsie for minsoo. It was a great idea, I can not wait to see Minsoo in all of his handmade shirts form the heart. Each one has a story....iTute (self explanatory), I love Aunty Kathy (I am sure he will Kathy), Daddies Boy (Paul loved that one), a few that describe how Minsoo and I are both Rockstars and others that describe the tougher side of Minsoo such as "gimee the toy and no one gets hurt" to name a few.

I still keep thinking - WOW we are so lucky to have such special people in our lives!

Hipity Hoppity Minsoo's On his way!

Happy Easter Everyone!

We celebrated Easter with family today. We were sad that Minsoo was not able to celebrate with us, though he was in our thoughts. Grandma and Grandpa Taylor brought a little Easter gift for him - a bunny and a book. Both are so cute!
His room is starting to come along as well. All we need now is the bedding for the bed, some pictures hung on wall and the bench seat cushion and matching cover for the headboard.
